Miraculous Remedies For Oily Skin

Do you have oily skin? Don’t worry – oily skin is a general problem that many people have. Usually, this is a problem handed down through the genes within a family. Aside from genes, there are other causes for oily skin. Changes in hormone levels can also determine the apparition of oily skin.

The oily skin problem does not only affect one certain group of people and it is not caused by age. There are plenty of issues that can cause oily skin such as: pregnancy, menopause, teenage years, as well as a diet rich in fatty foods. There are many other reasons, as some birth control pills can increase the skin’s oiliness as well.

Before you get too depressed or aggravated at the oily condition of your skin, consider the advantage. Yes, oily skin does have an advantage, as people with oily skin tend to wrinkle less than those with dry or normal skin.

But if you have oily skin, you should know there are some good remedies that can help make your skin look and feel wonderful. Try any of the following remedies in your own home to moderate your oily skin.

Wash your face properly.

When you have oily skin, you should wash your face at least twice a day. You should use a glycerin based soap when washing these oily areas. You might even try a detergent soap, but this might be too irritating for your skin.

Absorb extra oil.

a) You can use Aloe Vera gel which will help your face absorb oil and clear out the pores. It is recommended that after you wash your face, you pad the Aloe Vera gel onto your face and let it dry. You can keep your gel in the refrigerator so that when it is applied, you will achieve a refreshing feeling for your skin.

b) You should wipe your face with astringents several times daily. Consider such astringents as rubbing alcohol or a combination of acetone and alcohol, as these can both degrease your skin.

c) Use paper facial tissues that will help you soak up excess oils from your face each time you swipe your face. Instead of paper facial tissues, consider using special oil-absorbing tissues designed by manufacturers.

Avoid Moisturizers. You shouldn’t use moisturizers if you have oily skin. These moisturizers are made to help the skin ward off dryness and keep a soft, supple condition. Your oily skin already does this so moisturizers would only increase your oily skin problems rather than help you with them.

Avoid Oils.

a) It is recommended that you keep your hair away from your face. Usually, persons who have oily skin also have oily hair. If you notice many little bumps under your bangs or framing your face, you should definitely pull your hair back when possible.

b) Don’t touch your face, as hands will only deliver excess oil and dirt to your face. If you must touch your face, always wash and dry your hands prior to contact.

c) It would be great for you to avoid the use of make-up. If you cannot live without make-up – and some women cannot, then use only water-based cosmetics. It is also recommended that you use powder foundations or gel blushes instead of other options.

Use a scrub or mask.

You can make your own scrub which will help you remove excess surface oil. When using a scrub, you need to apply it gently onto the skin and leave it for a few minutes. When the time has lapsed, wash your face thoroughly. Instead of using a scrub, you might also try a mask to reduce your face’s oiliness as well.

Exfoliate.

You can make your own abrasive but always be careful to do exfoliate in a mild way, so as not to harm your skin. There are many products available which contain small granules, beads, or even oatmeal which will help wash away the oil and minimize its return.

Use Salt and Corn starch.

Corn starch will dry up oily patches on your skin. You will need to use it once each day to see the results. The salt will help you keep your face dry, as it is considered to be the best desiccant of nature. This is why so many products claim to be formulated with dead sea salts.

Make an Apple facial.

You can do an oil-ridding facial by mixing ½ cup of mashed apple, ½ cup of cooked oatmeal, 1 tablespoon lemon juice and 1 slightly beaten egg white. You will apply the smooth paste to your face and leave it for 15 minutes and then rinse with cool water.

Use egg yolk.

An egg yolk mask will dry out your skin. You will need to apply the egg yolk onto your face’s oily spots using a cotton ball. Leave it on for 15 minutes and then rinse it away with cool water.

Refresh your skin using fruits or vegetables.

Some citrus fruits and vegetables can help you refresh the skin and reduce oils. There are many facial recipes found online that will help combat the oiliness of your skin.

If you have oily skin, you should not worry because there are plenty of habits and home remedies that will help keep your face clean and dry. With the right beauty regimen, the only thing shining will be your own natural beauty.
